You know, I learned alot working on that piece. I made some mistakes, but I'm gonna do that patched design on some more stuff, a bit differently. Thanks!
Awww...*hugs* there will be more. Frankly, I fear for my life is she comes home and finds I don't have it waiting for her. I'm the big sister...but she's...well...she's feisty!
It's ok. I wouldn't want you damaged ;) Then I wouldn't be able to ogle more of your beautimous creations! I will continue to happily worship from afar.
I like the chunked vase for its colors and pattern ... a bit of a departure from your other pieces ... and it's the drizzle bowl I'm oogling as a candle holder.
nice pots, good for colors, inspiration, further creation...are you using high fired glazes? any copper reds? do you mix them? I didn't notice "pottery" as your part of your "interests," but maybe it's more your life, beyond interests...pottery and throwing mud is like that....my theory, watching people over the decades, is that when the clay gets beneath their finger-nails, and into their blood stream, it build up a blessed addiction, and soon, they have to make more and more pots, and bigger pots, and the mud flies, and the addiction grows....from one you has, and is, there.........peace,
Thank you BrotherKenny. Yep those are all high fired glazes, no copper reds but one that pretends to be one in the right conditions. I don't mix them personally, but I've helped.
And addictive is quite right. I struggle to remember what I did before it.
good stuff to "see again for the first time." Yes, like you said, "some of these will stay with me...." It's quite humbling, I think, that loooooong after we're gone, our pots will still be here.....geeeeesh.....Keep slinging the mud!
