oh my sweet tarts!!! i swear i was trying to remember this song so i could add it to one of my playlists this morning! thank you cherrie! you're a peach.
I downloaded the album when it first came out (yes, shame on me, but I wouldn't have bought it anyway), and this song was the one that stood out the most. I also liked 18th Floor Balcony. :)
@All: if you watch the video too much, the lead singer seems to have a "backstreet boy" kinda animated hands and posture when he's singing. Hate when people "act the lyrics."
I also would like to one of those evil violin playing mermaidy chicks whispering "end it all..."
I like that one. I do think many of their other tunes are overly verbose (like Barenakedladies), but okay nonetheless, but yes, this one is definitely a favorite.
classic! i bought this album just a few weeks ago, and i LOVE this song. i like the first two songs, too - 'you make me smile,' and 'she's my ride home.' good stuff.
I have to say though, I liked History For Sale better, as an album.
One of the songs just came on my iPod. :)
My favorite thing about Blue October is how real it is. How sincere it feels, even as it's mostly pessimistic. The lead singer guy is really emotionally screwed up, and it's obvious. You can actually feel his pain through the songs. It's not like most fake attempts at getting attention. It feels real.
When I met them, they were all super nice...but he was a little distant. He's an interesting and tragic character. He's intriguing.

the first time i heard it on the radio I was hooked too.
I want to believe he's talking about it in the aesthetic sense. There's something romantic about "into the ocean end it all..." in a melancholy way.
Ok fine. It's morbid. But DAMNED catchy!!!
