QotD: Thanks But No Thanks

Comments

[esto es genial]
i used to be a tele-botherer for a short period too, so i understand their plight. if i end up catching one of their calls i politely decline and thank them for their time... unless they get really pushy, then all bets are off. *giggle*
[this is good]
we once had a telemarketer call us back and start cursing us out on our answering machine, after my mother told them thanks but no thanks and hung up on them. yeah... we've since discovered the wonders of caller id and don't answer the phone if it isn't a number we recognise.
I had the horrid job, too. I was in high school.. yuck, what a job. I also use the caller id and if I get them by accident, which just happened on Fri. (I thought it was DeWitte.. he always calls on his way home from work). He got the thanks but no thanks routine.

It's funny because I always think.. who would buy for a telemarketer?.. but I sure did sell a lot of magazines.
see, that's grounds for an ass kickin'...
yeah, it was actually quite creepy, that someone would take it that personal and call back, yanno? yet another reason i tend to avoid the telephone if at all possible... and sometimes when it isn't!

I feel for telemarketers. Their job sucks. But if their job is to rudely invade my space, that is not my problem. I don't take out my frustration by abusing them, but I don't see why I have to be nice just because I am not being nastly. I don't even apologize or even sigh. I just hang up. They are the ones using a service I paid for to try to put a foot in my door and interrupt my life to sell me something that if I wanted or needed it I would have gone and got it myself. I don't owe them anything.
