Stump vase - available on Etsy
In an attempt to free up my personal shelves to make way for pieces that are finally starting to take on some serious size and girth, I've put the last of the little items I can bear to part with, on Etsy. I'm finally digging into some orders as well, and have quite a few items on the shelf waiting to be glaze fired.
Onward and upward.

I started back in late June or early July, and it was the following through on a curiosity and desire I've had since childhood. In fact, my mother still has one of the first things I made with clay in her house (I oughta take a picture and post it, it's HEEELARIOUS). I always put it off as something I'd take some classes on "when I had time." This summer, I just enrolled without thinking about it...and I haven't looked back since. It's my home. It is functional and therapeutic in that you learn some things about physics, chemistry, form and shape...but you also get to see that with all the teaching in the world, there is an element to the art you must feel. Best example is learning to center clay on a wheel. It can be taught until you are exhausted...but you never get the grasp of it until you "feel" the clay come into center. Your hands intuitively will know where to go, if you close your mind to analysis and just feel what you want the clay to do.
I could go on forever. Do it. If you're remotely curious about it it's a great way to learn somethings about yourself.
as always, adorable and beautiful and i am insane with jealousy.
wasn't there talk at one point of a piece pour moi? *taps foot impatiently*
(Liz is so ungrateful sometimes, isn't she? that wretch!)
