There will be blood. And probably cursing.
Normal people, after a particularly stressful afternoon, will go for a run, or treat themselves to a good movie. I, opt to get drunk and assemble furniture.
I, am not normal.
It's nearing ten in the evening and I am cursing this daylight savings time and what it is doing to my inner life clock. I am also cursing the new moon that began it's unveiling over the weekend. I would blame pms, but I'm sure someone might take offense to that. Do not get me wrong, life is actually quite good right now, I'm just having a bit of a time getting over that sensation that I'm waiting for some shoe of calamity to drop. Add to that some work deadlines and another brief whirlwind called tradeshow season, and I am feeling spread a little too thin. But...good.
So as I leer at the blood line forming on a cut near my ankle and avoid looking at a bunch of maple wood panels with cute little letters on them, I sit here catching up...because I realize I haven't in over a week. I suppose I'm suffering from my yearly hiatus where I grow bored with posting and everything feels like something I've said before. It will likely pass in a few days, and until then I might try and drop a tune or video or something to distract you from the fact that I'm not writing.
Here's hoping you don't notice.
Some random thoughts:
1. I think the series finale of The Wire might have been the best series finale I've ever seen. It wasn't too neat, wasn't too provocative, it was absolutely perfect.
2. Retail therapy is kicking my budget straight in the ass.
3. Every time SxSW rolls into town, it reminds me how much I wish my peeps that come in for the event would move. Jason, Melissa, George, EJ and Cecily (who I met in "meat space" for the first time), you folks take Austin chic to the next level. I miss you already. And Lainie? We need a routine. Seriously.
4. My Cheryl is back in Austin. When the dust settles, I am so looking forward to our routine hangouts.
5. There's so much I ain't saying right now. LMAO
Okay, that's it, over and out.

I haven't seen The Wire at all and I will soon start watching the first season on DVD and I'm quite excited to start.
