What's your Human Design, and uh...what are you doing here?
Horoscope for Cancer, the week of April 11th, 2007 From Madalyn Aslan:
You know those raffles where you have spent loads of money on over time and often wondered, does anyone really win? Who knows, maybe you have won in the past but did not take the time to notice the fine print that reads ‘You must be present to win’. This is true now in much bigger ways for you Cancer. You have been donating your time and energy to an important cause or venture and wondering how much of an impact your efforts have made. There has not been a great deal of feedback letting you know just how much your presence matters and just like the fine print on that raffle ticket, the same is true now.
You must be present to win. You must also access the courage and confidence worthy of a great win. You have paid your dues so let the world show its gratitude. Watch for the signs around the New Moon in Aries, in your house of career and visibility, Tuesday, April 17.
Ahhhh, you must be present to win. That is nothing astrological, that is absolute fact, and an inportant karmic lesson. I wonder how many times in my life I have poured a lot of blood, sweat, time, energy, tears, and even money trying to wiggle my way into something only to lose my sense of faith and purpose to bail out just moments before I hit jackpot? Being present doesn't mean just being at the door when there's a knock. Being present means being in the right state of mind when you open the door. That makes all the difference between the object on the otherside being the answer to your prayers, or your worst nightmare.
Today, I celebrate all of the evidence in my life that demonstrates to me that I get what I truly want. Both the good...and the bad. Today I also remember with great humility, that I don't always have to ram full force into a brick wall...to acquire it.
Benevolent Creator, indeed.
I chuckled last night when I stumbled across my results from another study using the framework of Human Design. I must be a self involved ass, because I love learning additional theories about what makes me tick. Human Design follows the notion that there are four primary personality types. Manifestors, Generators, Projectors and Reflectors. The first two are "energy types" or creators. The latter are "non-energy types" or reactors. To learn which one you are, enter your birth data. (Skip past the streaming audio, that guys voice freaks me right on out)
I was a Manifesting Generator. Does this mean I am prone to "spin?" Heavily. The profile for a Manifesting Generator?
Manifesting generators
"There are two subcategories of generators,
pure generators and manifesting generators, both comprising of
about 35% of the world population. The main difference between them is that,
after responding to something, manifesting generators can act more quickly than
pure generators.
Manifesting Generators are Manifestors with a Generator
strategy. They have an endless resource of energy as they have at least one
motor connected directly to the throat. Generally they love to be in the thick
of life. Their greatest dilemma is to learn that their true power lies in waiting
for opportunities to come to them. If they actively try to pursue their goals
and dreams they will encounter only resistance and pain. When they relax, then
their lives can be poetry in motion." - From Human Design - UK.com
Okay, so here's what I'd like you to do, for me for you and for fun...plug in your birth data through the link, then read up on your type. If you're comfortable, share your results and whether or not it seems to match what you've discovered about yourself. Feel free to also call me a metaphysical hippie geek fool. I won't be offended in the slightest. Just don't call me Cherly. Ever.
Comments
Wanting to know what makes you tick doesn't make you a "self involved ass", it makes you inquisitive. I think we all want to know what we are about...what lies beneath the surface and how we are who we are beyond just our environment or the emotional genes we've inherited.
lol. hey fellow cancer.
my nieces do that to annoy me and so i can playfully run after them like i'm mad.
"aunt cherly, aunt cherly"
but no one else can call me that. EVER. something about it makes me crazy. and the fact that the name is dervied from charlotte.
I'm a Generator. The majority of the population (about 70%) are generators. All generators have a defined sacral centre. They are designed to respond to life. Unlike manifestors they have no idea of where they are going until they respond. Therefore they have to wait until life initiates them first. Generators are potentially the most powerful of all the types, but unless they understand how they work, they are the most frustrated people alive. They only know what is right for them to do or say by their response to something. Their response comes from deep in their abdomen and is most often in non-verbal sounds: "unun", "ahunh", "mmmmm", “ahhhhhh" etc. If they initiate, they often get involved in the wrong things, meet resistance, get frustrated and quit.
this right here: Strategy: Wait to act until you are clear about your response. Do not initiate. yeah, that definitely sounds about right.
i almost never do things on impulse. ok, that's not entirely true. i bought my bug on impulse, and totally regretted it. i decided on the corolla and bought it fairly quickly, but i definitely had been thinking about getting a new car for a while.
sometimes i take the analyzing before reacting way too far though, yanno? some things should be done on impulse (like giving your number to cute waiters who wink at you), and i tend to think until its too late.
i'm the same way about people too, thinking and watching before deciding whether or not i'm going to give them my trust and loyalty. because once someone's gotten them, it's damned hard to lose that trust.
i could try to share... i'm not entirely sure how, though! :~)
Why does that guys voice make me automatically think "cult", or maybe even shrink. He's certainly not Anthony Robbins.. not that that's a bad thing!
I am a Reflector, the rarest of the four types.
The rarest of the four types, Reflectors (less than 2% of the population) are open to the world in every way, since they have nothing fixed in their nature to rely upon (none of the 9 centres are coloured in). If they do not understand how their design works they can feel deeply lost and overwhelmed by life. They take others in very deeply. Reflectors are often deeply disturbed due to lack of self-knowledge and adverse conditioning, but they can become very wise if they understand their openness and how to work with it.
Explains my flightyness and inability to complete things unless I really want to. It also explains why my 20s were a living hell!
I'm generating but if you have to be less than impulsive to be that then they made a mistake. I'm one of the most impulsive people I know. I go with my gut and always make snap decisions. I have to recant much but at least I can make up my mind...for now, ;-)
It says I'm manifesting generator. Out of the four, I'd say this one is the most accurate however, I don't feel as if I'm the initiator or very aggressive. Maybe I need to pay more attention to how I respond to situations.
I will say that I identify more with the "Not Self" for Manifestor.
Type: Projector
Profile: 2 / 5
Definition: Single Definition
Authority: None
Not Self Theme : Bitterness
Strategy : Wait for the Invitation
Incarnation Cross : Right Angle Cross of Consciousness
What does this mean!? AHHHHH :: clueless ::
I'm really tempted to download that software to learn more.
On the name thing, I have an Aunt Sheryl and an Aunt Sherlie. I confused to two for years.
Type: Manifesting Generator
Profile: 3 / 5
Definition: Split Definition
Authority: Emotional - Solar Plexus
Not Self Theme : Frustration
Strategy : To Respond
Incarnation Cross : Right Angle Cross of Rulership
::I'm with Abject here. Huh?::
@This Quiet Life: Are you a Libra? I'll explain later.
@Sheryl: I must be getting good at this, I guessed you as a Generator from some of your more in-deth posts.
@Mellow: you know, I don't consider myself aggressive or the initiator most times, but people constantly remind me that I am. Go figure. Do others ever tell you that?
@Abject: follow that link from Liz. Silly.
@Broke Ass Knitter: I'm learning only NOW to stop trying to make stuff happen. Much like Lucy and Ethel...whenever I set out on a mission, I make it a mess. It all comes together after I've exhausted myself and I'm passed out on the roadside. And here all this time I thought it was because of all my labor. I guess it's moreso because I was too tired to be in the way anymore.
@Stacy: check out the link Liz highlighted, Or...just read that portion of my entry, we're the same type. :))
@Yolie: I think our birthdays are close if I recall. Makes sense. So let me ask you...have you struggled with letting the answer come to you? *snickers* Why do I think we've both been in the position of trying to rally the masses and forge ahead to meet great fatigue? All these years of people telling me to chill the hell out...you mean, they were on to something?
No, I'm a Pisces. I don't think I even know any Libra's...
Interested in the explanation to the question....
Explains my flightyness and inability to complete things unless I really want to.
I swear I've heard three different Librans describe this as an issue for them. I wondered if there was any astrological significance to it, because it sounded so familiar. But then...I suppose one can take all this stuff a step too far...lolol
*reflects back on all the rapid running in circles and slams into brick walls only to have it made so simple*
I'm going to assume this DOES NOT give us the permission to sit back, watch old movies and eat chocolate until life sorts itself out. But...damn I wish it did.
Maybe I have Libra somewhere in my chart. Or, maybe it is just a personality trait that is specific to me being born on a holiday whose only merit is to drink yourself into oblivion...
I'm open to both being a possibility.
Go figure.
Oh by the way I'm a Generator... I'm going to Home Depot to get some jumper cables. :)
Yes, indeed, they were on to something. Because that's definitely me--rallying the troops, only to meet quick, painful defeat. My husband's been trying to tell me that for the last two years and I just roll my eyes at him, roll up my sleeves and head into battle. Ouch!!! Yesterday, after reading through there and listening to the audios I called him up to tell him that I think he "was on to something." LOL
So, now, I'm in the process of searching for a house to buy, and unlike these past few weeks where I've been zooming here and zooming there trying to tidy up credit and all that jazz, I'm going to force myself to slow it down and let some things come to me. The whole time he's been saying "chill, it'll come, stop trying to rush things and getting in your own way." Man, these are going to be the hardest months of my life. ;-)
Projector here.
Projectors (about 21% of the population) are naturally able to work with and guide the energy of others, but only when they are recognized for their unique abilities and traits. Projectors know that they are recognized and appreciated when they receive an appropriate invitation. Without an invitation, the projector does not know if they will be able to put their talents and abilities to use in any way that is natural or healthy for them.
They are people whose specific gift is to work with and guide the energy of others. They alone can understand both manifestors and generators. They also have a design to wait, and the key that unlocks their power is recognition. Unless they are recognised, they are powerless. Once they are recognised, they can achieve almost anything.
