All dreams rest adrift on the sea. They wait there, resting peacefully atop the water that cradles them. Once we spot them, we make it our life's quest to get close to them, collect them, bring them into our life boat to summon all the wonders those dreams might bring. Sometimes we collect them, sometimes they seem to drift teasingly away from our fingers when we're at the extent of our reach.

I've said it once, I'll say it again - different metaphor, same theory. This may likely be more for me than for you.

Steady the waters, and let the dream float closer to you. The hardest thing to do, but such a simple concept. Visualize your hearts desire as a basket floating along the sea. You are in your boat, you've been sailing for an eternity (at least that's what you tell yourself). You get into a position where you believe you can finally see that dream you've been searching for. For passionate/impatient souls, the immediate temptation is to drop the oars in the water and paddle like mad to the place it appears to be resting. Perhaps you're afraid someone else might snatch it up. Perhaps you're just tired from searching. Whatever it is, you set the oars in the water and you're off.

What happens when you create motion on the surface of a body of water? You create ripples. Ripples create waves. Waves inspire motion. But oft times not the motion we seek. You try to move closer to your dream, yet your dream seems to drift away. Some of us row faster, watching in horror as the basket seems to waft further into the distance. Some of us, know to steady the water. To be still. To rest our boat in the best position, and to let the waters calm around us. As those waters calm and we show the restraint that is often a spiritual pre-requisite of any gift granted, we see our dream almost magically float closer to us.

Steady your waters, whoever you are. Let your dreams come to you.

I've been on a bit of a posting hiatus, we have a new instructor and she's been "unlearning" some of my bad habits I adopted which is awesome, and I've seen a notable improvement in my work. Bad part is, I had to really take a step back and readjust some things.

But the work is improving. I'm really pleased with the candle holders I've been working on and I've gotten a handle on my style. Here's a few of the items posted today, and stay on the lookout for the candle holders. Can't wait to share them with you. (You already saw the little flower one earlier this week)

I have five holes in each ear and I don't regret any of them.

I consider myself spiritual rather than religious.

I have matching strawberry birthmarks on the back of my calves, same location, same shape.

I eat each food individually on my plate and in a specific order. I might be considered a food separatist.

I believe letting your inner child ride along throughout your life extends and beautifies your existence. Your inner child is magic manifested.

I love to project this image of all calm, all wise and all peaceful knowing.

But ooooooh what lies beneath.

My twitter friends list is at one hundred, and as I said there earlier this morning, that feels like eighty too many. I feel overstimulated, like an infant at a family reunion. Too many people, too many faces in mine, too much talk. Too much.

But it's not just there, I find as I take a hard look at me, that I am that way nearly everywhere I go. I don't know if I happened into this intolerance by chance when I hit thirty-five...perhaps it's always been there lying dormant waiting for me to have had enough of mainstream...but either way it is here.

I've always struggled with patience. And it seems only fitting that I would have to come face to face with situations that try what little patience I have, constantly. It's as if God is quietly reminding me that this is a test I don't get to skip. But oh how I want to. I don't want to allow certain things to happen in my life (as if I ever controlled certain things). I want it all my way. Which, by the way, isn't asking for much. It's mostly asking not to be presented bullshit quite so often. Oh wait...that's too much to ask? DAMMIT. You mean I don't get to hold the license on determining what is bullshit? Double DAMMIT.

In my little happy place, there is only what I want. People don't say dumb shit. People don't tramp on my garden of logic and integrity. People don't wallow in the lowest levels of self awareness. People only talk about the things I think are worthy of my time. People don't sit in my face and lie to me, thinking I'm not aware of what they are doing, I'm sounding more and more like the Queen of Hearts with every passing day. And I gotta tell you...I'm uncomfortable with that.

My challenge to myself these days seems to be striking a balance between patience and boundary. Establishing the ledge when it comes to my intolerance. That's gonna be a hard one. I overcompensate for a childhood where I stuffed my wants, my needs and my thoughts deep deep deep into the corner of a badly worn shoe. Now it's time to remember that just because I've found my sword of truth...doesn't mean I gotta go chopping off everyone's head as compensation for time lost.
